When you try to print a PDF using Adobe Reader version 7.0 or higher and some things are missing on the printout or there are black boxes, you may try choosing the checkbox "Print as image" in your print dialog box.

Choose Print, then check the box that says 'Print as image'. It may take a little longer to print this way.
