When attempting to open a text file from the HOM disk in Word Perfect a "Convert File Format" window opens up with the message "Convert file format from:" and then has a drop down menu that is prefilled with "- Unsupported Format -"
 
Simply choose the option "ANSI Windows Text" from the drop down menu and click OK. The text will open up correctly.
